Only Murders in the Building 2: Amy Schumer joins Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez's series

The Arconia will get a new resident in the form of Amy Schumer it seems. It was reported that the comedian will join the cast of Only Murders in the Building for its second season.

According to a report in Vanity Fair, Schumer will play an exaggerated version of herself, who is a new resident at the Arconia. Her character, described as ‘a slightly unbearable version’ of the actress, will play a prominent role in the first few episodes of the new season. Schumer’s character is interested in a screen adaptation of the Only Murders in the Building podcast, but with a twist. Her rendition will feature her as a ‘feminist antihero’, essaying the role of the murderer Jan(Amy Ryan). But before she goes ahead with her venture, she needs the lead trio to clear their names. Schumer’s character sublets the apartment at the Arconia that Sting had previously stayed in.

In addition to Schumer, Cara Delevingne also joins the show as a new addition, playing a potential love interest for Mabel. Delevingne will play Alice, the owner of an art gallery. Shirley MacLaine also joins the series, playing Bunny’s mother.

Only Murders in the Building stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as three residents in an apartment building whom band together and start a true crime podcast when a person in their building is found dead. Martin created the show along with John Hoffman.

Spoilers ahead. The critically acclaimed show’s last season had ended with the tables being turned on the trio, when they themselves are arrested as suspects in a murder case. The Hulu series was renewed for a new season last year, which will premiere next month on Hulu.
