Only Murders in the Building Season 4 – Eva Longoria and Molly Shanon join cast, while Meryl Streep returns as Loretta

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 premiered last year amid much success and several Emmy nominations. It saw the story shift focus from The Arconia to the Broadway, focusing on the murder of Oliver’s hero of the play. Season 3 also saw the starry likes of Meryl Streep, Jesse Williams, Paul Rudd, Ashley Park, and Linda Emond. For Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building as well, talented, known guest stars are being revealed slowly, amid much anticipation.

The new additions to the cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 4

Only Murders in the Building Season 4 will see actress and film producer Eva Longoria, who recently made her directorial debut with the 2023 film Flamin’ Hot, in an undisclosed role, who will play an important role in the season’s murder investigation. Joining her among the new additions is The White Lotus alum Molly Shannon as a formidable LA businesswoman who gets involved in the murder investigation of Sazz Pataki, Charles’ onscreen stunt double.

Returning members of the cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 4

Among the returning cast members, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short will be reprising their leading roles of Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, while Jane Lynch’s Sazz is assured return for a reason. Meryl Streep is the latest to join those aboard the reprisal boat, as Loretta, the actress who is also Oliver’s love interest. The news was announced by the producing studio 20th Television’s president Karey Burke in an interview.

Though the rest of the cast is unconfirmed yet, it is expected that Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Williams and Jesse Williams as Tobert will be seen in the upcoming season. Since Season 4 will focus on solving the murder of the beloved character Sazz, it is expected that we will be seeing more of her, if the usual pattern of Only Murders in the Building is to be followed.

What to expect from Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?

In Season 3 Paul Rudd had an extensive presence onscreen, despite dying at the beginning of the season, via flashbacks and memories. The same is hoped and expected for Jane Lynch. Though not much plot details about the new season has been revealed, the setting will be shifting focus from The Arconia to Los Angeles, as the leading trio will frequent the locale, as well as solving Sazz’s demise along with the potential dangers to Charles’ life.
