The hit podcasting trio Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Sheen) and Mable Mora (Selena Gomez) are headed to Hollywood in Season 4 of Only Murders In The Building (OMITB), which will drop on Hulu on August 27. In India, the show is available on Disney+ Hotstar, with episodes making their way hours after the original telecast. In the past, Disney+ Hotstar has had delayed streaming of episodes, but given the show’s growing popularity, that is likely to be ironed out, with audiences here too privy to the action at almost the same time.

Earlier today, a teaser of Season 4 was released, which, not only announced the start date of Season 4, which will have weekly episode drops, but also listed all the Hollywood stars who will be a part of the narrative this time. While most had been announced earlier, joining returning cast members Meryl Streep, Jane Lynch, D’avine Joy Randolph, Michael Cyril Creighton, Richard Kind and Jesse Williams are Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Mellisa McCarthy, Molly Shanon and Kumail Namjiani.

Where the story left off at the end of Season 3 and what to expect in Season 4

After two seasons of solving murders in their apartment complex The Arconia, Season 3 took the action to Broadway, where Oliver Putnam’s return to the stage almost gets derailed when his lead actor ends up dead. The mystery about who killed him was solved and just as the trio celebrate their latest success, Charles’ stunt double Sazz Pataki (Lynch) turns up saying that they needed to discuss something. Before they can get down to it, though, Sazz is gunned down at Charles’ apartment, presumably in a hit meant for the latter.

So, when a Hollywood Studio tables an offer to make a movie of the podcast, the three head to Los Angeles to find out who’d want Charles dead or, if Sazz was the intended target after all. We’ll find out when Only Murders in the Building returns this August.
