Ooru Peru Bhairavakona teaser: Sundeep Kishan’s thriller is about a town’s link to an incomplete ancient text

Sundeep Kishan, whose multilingual gangster drama Michael released earlier this year, will next star in a mystical thriller Ooru Peru Bhairavakona. The film marks his reunion with Okka Kshanam filmmaker VI Anand. Kavya Thapar, Varsha Bollamma are cast as the leading ladies in the film produced by Razesh Danda of Hasya Movies and presented by Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments.

The film’s teaser was launched at a popular studio in Hyderabad today. The glimpse starts with a woman claiming that four pages from the literary text - Garudapuranam - have gone missing since the era of Krishna Devaraya. The teaser introduces us to a fictitious town and several mythical elements and symbols from the film.

Later, a man claims that there’s only chance of an entry into the world, but no scope for an exit. There are a few montages where the protagonist is try to search for answers and a series of high-voltage action sequences grab your eyeballs. It ends with a dialogue where Sundeep says the four missing pages from Garudapuranam is all about Bhairavakona.

The makers claim the story inspired by several Indian folklores. The arresting visual appeal, detailing and the vibrant music score and the efforts to build a unique world are an asset to Ooru Peru Bhairavakona. Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha play other important roles in the film which has music by Shekar Chandra and cinematography by Raj Thota. Chota K Prasad is the editor.

VI Anand has made several interesting films in the past - Okka Kshanam, Tiger, Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, Disco Raja. Regardless of their commercial results, they’ve enjoyed a niche following and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona has all the ingredients of another compelling product. The timing of the film couldn’t have been better, especially after the success of mystical thrillers like Virupaksha, Karthikeya 2.
