Back in July, it was a big catch for the whole world as the 2 highest grossing movies of the year, Barbie and Oppenheimer were released on the same day. Although Barbie has created history in many aspects such as being the first billion-dollar movie of 2023 and the first female-directorial to make such collection, Oppenheimer was also not behind to collect a tremendous amount.
According to sources, while Barbie collected $1.36 billion, Oppenheimer collected $650 million, worldwide.
Oppenheimer story
Oppenheimer is a real-life story about J. Robert Oppenheime, the famous physicist, aka The Father of the Atomic Bomb, who was the director of the Manhattan Project's Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II. The movie shows how Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. appoints physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret project. Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years developing and designing the atomic bomb. Their work comes to fruition on July 16, 1945, as they witness the world's first nuclear explosion, forever changing the course of history.
