The best and perhaps the only place to enjoy a Christopher Nolan film is the cinema hall and one knows just how much the filmmaker believes in its conduciveness. From refraining to switch to digital and sticking to the film since the time he made his debut in 1998, Nolan's view of both its filmmaking and its eventual consumption is that of a purist. He has even gone on to show us, the viewer, the most ideal spot in an IMAX theatre for the optimum experience of a movie.

Team Oppenheimer zeroes in its Indian OTT partner?

As the modern-day tradition goes, the film is due to land on OTT once it is through with its theatrical run. And speculations are rife currently about the partner that the makers of Oppenheimer have chosen for the Indian digital debut of the film. However, the wait could be slightly longer than usual.

According to a well-known trade analyst and cinema tracker, team Oppenheimer plans on releasing the film only after 100 days of its theatrical run. The 100-day period, one gathers, is the bare minimum waiting period meaning that it could take longer than that.

The same reports also tell us that Netflix has been chosen as the streaming partner for Oppenheimer. This news currently stands as speculation, considering that the official sources are yet to comment on it. Not very long, another report claimed that Jio Cinema could host the Nolan epic, but it is now a matter of time before a formal word is out.

Netflix currently hosts two of Christopher Nolan's films - Inception and Interstellar - whereas Jio Cinema boasts a bigger Nolan repertoire with The Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, and also Inception & Interstellar.

A complete theatrical experience

Nolan has also endorsed the IMAX 70 mm cameras through his work and first employed the format in his seminal 2008 film, The Dark Knight. His most recent cinematic expedition, Oppenheimer, is shot on IMAX 65 mm film and 65 mm large-format film, including black-and-white photography on IMAX for the very first time in the company's history. In other words, it stands for the consummate theatrical experience.

Oppenheimer is currently playing in theatres across the world and has emerged as a major box-office success, grossing over $200 million within a matter of five days.
