Goddess Durga hides in each woman. Bengalis across the world traditionally believe that Durga is the one who saves us from the crisis and kills the unholy. Durga is the epicenter of power. Not only physically, but the power is cerebral as well. According to our mythology, she is the savior if needed, and at other times she can become violent and angry. The music video, directed by Santanu Nandy, talks about those Durgas. The video was released on October 18.
These goddesses are relentlessly fighting the asuras of the society. They are sportswomen, cab drivers, or some cafe girls. They are transgenders, civic police, food delivery girls, judges, or laborers. They might be some independent girls or prostitutes. The name of the video is Ora Sobai Durga.
Santanu has been working for a long time as the creative director in several production houses and channels. This is his first solo project as the director. He believes that the abolition of discrimination is necessary for women's development. That was why he made the video.
The video is produced by Rahul Productions. It was Amit Das and Santanu Nandy's brainchild. Pratik Kundu did the music. Eleven newcomer actresses worked in the video. It aims to tell the story of the real-life goddesses who relentlessly do their work, most of the time away from the spotlight.
