Orchestra, Mysuru! the film that composer Raghu Dixit co-produced and threw his heart into, which Daali Dhananjaya then backed and brought to theatres did not strike rich at the box office. So much so that the film led by Poornachandra Mysore landed on OTT only a fortnight later. Once it began streaming, though, the film was an instant hit, with audiences showering it with immense love.
However, the deal with Amazon Prime Video was short-lived and the film disappeared from the platform after 6 months. While it is now back on the streamer, the makers have decided to give the film a wider reach by partnering with yet another platform.
On August 16, Orchestra, Mysuru! will become available on Cinebazzar OTT, the platform that makes films available across 177 countries in the world on TVOD (transactional video on demand). At a price of Rs 49 only, one gets access to the film.
Orchestra, Mysuru, written and directed by Sunil Mysuru, explores the orchestra culture in the heritage city. Poorna plays the protagonist Poorna, an aspiring singer who hopes to become a part of one of the city’s most popular orchestra troupes. But just when he lands the dream spot, things go south for him. Determined to still fulfil his dream, Poorna sets out to launch his own orchestra troupe. With an opponent determined to scuttle his plans, Poorna has an uphill task at hand. Can he make it after all?
Orchestra, Mysuru! has 8 songs composed by Raghu, all of which feature lyrics by Dhananjaya, and one of which was shot during a live performance by the composer. As a result, the film is nearly three hours long, which was cited as one of its negatives when it released in theatres. In fact, Orchestra, Mysuru! was promoted as the film that would end the drought of Kannada movies during Sankranti, but unfortunately for the makers, their plan did not work out with audiences not supporting them.
