Malayalam actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan’s latest movie Oru Jaathi Jathakam will stream on two OTT platforms simultaneously. The movie, helmed by M Mohanan and scripted by Rakesh Mantodi, had hit theatres in the final week of January after Mohanlal’s Thudarum release was shifted to May.
The movie, which also has Kayadu Lohar, Indu Thampy, Nikhila Vimal and Chippy Devassia in pivotal roles, is an all-out comedy entertainer – that had also raised eyebrows for its scenes poking fun at the LGBTQIA community.
While Manorama Max had earlier announced that it had bagged the OTT rights of the comedy, reports now say that the movie will also be streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Oru Jaathi Jathakam is set to being streaming on both the OTT platforms from March 14. Contrary to other Malayalam releases on Prime Video, this will only be available in the original language.
The film revolves around a 37-year-old man based in Chennai, who is desperate to get married but finds it tough to get a suitable match due to his criteria that would make any progressive women cringe. When he finally finds the one for him, things turn topsy-turvy as challenges that neither him nor his family expected come back to haunt him. Can he navigate through all of this and come back a transformed man, who has more respect for women? - is what the plot of this comedy entertainer, which also has PP Kunhikrishnan and Babu Antony is about.
Meanwhile, Vineeth has already shot for his portions in Dileep’s upcoming film Bha. Bha. Bha, which also stars brother Dhyan Sreenivasan in a pivotal role. It’s also been reported that Mohanlal will be seen in an extended cameo in the movie, which has one more schedule left.
Vineeth has also begun the pre-production of his next directorial, which has portions set in Georgia. The film is expected to be an action-thriller.
