Oru Jaathi Oru Jathakam is a much-awaited Malayalam film that features father-son duo Sreenivasan and Vineeth Sreenivasan. The Hridayam director took to his social media handles to announce that the first-look poster of the M Mohanan directorial will be unveiled tomorrow (February 20). The update which was shared on the actor’s Instagram stories featured a new announcement poster with a yellow theme that read, “First Look Poster will be released tomorrow 21.02.24, Wednesday 6PM IST. Stay tuned (sic)”.
The movie is helmed by popular director M Mohanan, who is known for his remarkable works such as Katha Parayumpol and Aravindante Athidhikal, and has been a frequent collaborator of veteran actor-writer Sreenivasan. The upcoming film, which is scripted by Rakesh Mantodi, is billed as a family drama. Nikhila Vimal plays the female lead in the film opposite Vineeth. Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars Babu Antony, Isha Talwar, and Aju Varghese in pivotal roles.
According to earlier reports, Oru Jaathi Oru Jathakam revolves around the life of a young man in the Malabar region of Kerala. The film has reportedly been shot extensively in Northern Kerala and most of the characters speak in the Malabar slang. The film will also explore the culture and practices of the Malabar region. Earlier in an interview with OTTplay, Vineeth described the family drama as ‘total madness’.

Interestingly, a first-look poster from the film was released in 2023 that featured an astrology board with photos of several women who appear to be potential prospects. However, the new first-look poster is expected to be of the lead actors' looks from the film.
Meanwhile, the director-actor has been gearing up for the release of his most-anticipated directorial Varshangalkku Shesham , starring Nivin Pauly (extended cameo), Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan and his brother Dhyan Sreenivasan in lead roles. The film is set to hit the big screens on April 11, coinciding with the Malayalam festival of Vishu.
