So far, 2023 has been a phenomenal year for Indian producer Guneet Monga. In March this year, Guneet and director Kartiki Gonsalves scripted history at Oscars 2023 as their project ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won the Best Documentary Short Film statuette. For the unversed, Monga is the founder of Sikhya Entertainment, that is a film production house which has films like Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1, Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2, The Lunchbox, Masaan, Zubaan and Pagglait to its credits.

Today, on the occasion of Mothers’ Day, she confirmed that she is headed to attend the prestigious 2023 Cannes Film Festival along with her husband Sunny Kapoor. Actors Anushka Sharma, and Manushi Chhillar are also expected to attend the gala affair.

With this, the Oscar winning star Monga also penned down an emotional post for her mother which has a special connection with acting legend Shah Rukh Khan.

“I have learnt the joy of celebrating little things with her - woh perfect jami hui dahi, woh purani kadhai (she tells me mere dahej ki kadhai hai) jismein perfect tadka lagta hai. She makes sure to send me ghar ka jama hua ghee, pinniyaan and her biggest joy is when you sit down and talk to her and discuss food. That’s all she wants. I’ve never had someone care about me so much! This is a rarity. If you ask her aapko kya chahiye, she says, ‘Mere saath baith-kar baatein karo ya aaj ghar par reh jao!’
Her childlike innocence and excitement melt my heart every time! For instance, she put a tika on my Oscar trophy! Chhoti chhoti baaton mein khushiyaan dhoondh leti hain. Living with my very own SRK - Sudesh Rani Kapoor has made me see life through her world view. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. #mothersday #happymothersday,” Monga wrote on Instagram.

Earlier this week, Monga made headlines when a press statement revealed that Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment are all set to join hands for a new slate of films.
