All We Imagine As Light's historic victory at Cannes put the spotlight on Divya Prabha, catapulting the Malayalam actress to global fame. Payal Kapadia’s film earned several international accolades and continues to stir discussions on global platforms. Despite this, the film failed to earn a nomination at the Oscars 2025. However, Divya Prabha has found a silver lining after coming across a suggestion that the All We Imagine As Light actress should have been nominated for the prestigious awards.
As the world eagerly awaits the announcement of Oscar winners, media houses are busy listing the winners. One such list by Variety listed Divya Prabha in its list for ‘should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress’. Divya Prabha is thrilled to note this suggestion and took to Instagram to share her excitement.
She wrote, “Today, I woke up to this news in a well-known American trade magazine Variety , the final Oscar predictions mentioning that I should have been nominated for Best supporting Actress if the film received a nomination. This is huge!.”
She also pointed out that her director Payal had told her that people in America love her.

Divya Prabha played the role of Anu along with Kani Kusruthi as Prabha in Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light, which won the Grand Prix award at Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. This historic win meant that cinephiles across the globe sat up and took notice of this film, and its actors.
Both Prabha and Anu are Malayali nurses living in Mumbai, and the film follows them as they navigate their lives at the metropolis. Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon play other key roles in the film.
All We Imagine As Light had a limited release in Kerala before making its OTT premiere. Payal Kapadia's film is now available for streaming on JioHotstar.
