PremiumOTTplay Awards 2022: Arya jointly wins Best Actor Male (Jury) in a film along with Farhan Akhtar
The actor, who has recieved a lot of love and appreciation for his role in Sarpatta Parambai, rememebered the person behind the story in his acceptance speech.

Actor Arya won the best Actor Male (Jury) in a Film for Sarpatta Parambai that he jointly shared with Farhan Akhtar for his role in the sports drama Toofan. In his acceptance speech, Arya thanked the man who he considers is the backbone of the film: Shanmugam Dhakshanraj.
"Thanks, OTTplay Awards for this wonderful award. Really honoured to be here. Karan sir (referring to Karan Johar in the crowd) and Manoj sir, so happoy to see you here. I want to thank few people for this award. First of all, I would like to thank Shanmugam Dhakshanraj who is not with us anymore but he was the architect of Sarpatta Parambai. I am sure he is blessing us from above and that is why all these wonderful thinghs are happening to us," he said while accepting his award at the OTTplay Awards 2022.
For the unversed, the inaugural OTTplay Awards and Conclave, a marquee event from the house of Hindustan Times, aims to honour the best talent, movies and web series across 10 Indian languages and a plethora of OTT platforms that premiered on streaming services the past year.
The event, which has taken place on Saturday (September 10) has opened with a conclave inviting leaders in the OTT space, celebrities, content creators, advertisers, and technology enablers to deliberate on the future of OTTs and how it will reinvent the entertainment business. This will be followed by the OTTplay Awards — India's First Pan-India OTT Award Show.
