Mithila Palkar received the OTTplay Awards 2022 for the much-loved show Little Things season 4 for Best On-screen Couple award alongside Dhruv Sehgal. There is hardly anyone in the audience who did not love, adore and binge-watched the rom-com web series by Dice Media.

The story of the show revolves around the journey of a young couple Dhruv and Kavya, played by Dhruv Sehgal and Mithila Palkar respectively. After the successful run of two seasons, Netflix bought the franchise and therefore the third and fourth seasons of the show were streamed on Netflix.

About the winner: Dhruv and Mithila, both started their career as performers at a very young age and on the stage.

Mithila, born and brought up in Mumbai, started participating in drama in her school days and initially, she created viral videos that made her famous on digital platforms. She created the Marathi version of 'Cup Song', 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' etc.

Dhruv, born and brought up in Delhi, went on to study in London and then did his post-graduation from a media school in Pune. Since the beginning, Dhruv had an interest in writing, directing and creating content.

Career : Mithila made her professional acting debut in cinema, with the Marathi short film titled Majha Honeymoon in 2014. The film was well received and also shown at the 16th Mumbai International Film Festival. Followed by that, She made her first appearance in the Bollywood film Katti Batti in 2015. The film starred Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan.

She then made her debut in the Marathi feature film Muramba. Though Mithila continued to work on small projects and appeared in ad films, her big break came with the web series Girl in the City for Filter Copy in 2016. The same year she, along with Dhruv, appeared as Dhruv and Kavya for the web series Little Things produced by Aditi Shrivastava, Anirudh Pandita and Ashwin Suresh.

Mithila as an actress got huge recognition from the audience through the show Little Things. There was no looking back henceforth, as the actress went on appearing in several other films and web series. She is one of the fortunate young actresses who got an opportunity to work with the late actor Irrfan Khan in the Bollywood film Karwaan. She also appeared in Renuka Shahne's directorial Thribhanga, alongside Kajol and in the film Chopsticks with Abhay Deol. Both film were released on Netflix.

Dhruv, with his interest of writing, directing and creating content, started working as an assistant director with documentary filmmakers. After gathering his experience for a substantial amount of time, he started his journey as a writer for Filter Copy. There he created the story of Little Things and eventually he made his acting debut with the show in 2016. Since then the show garnered love and appreciation from the audience for four seasons.

Dhruv also directed the anthology - Modern Love Mumbai which was released on Amazon Prime Video.

Accolades: Being the creator of the show Little Things, Dhruv has received multiple awards. His show Little Things bagged - Critics Choice Shorts & Series Awards 2019, MTV IWMBuzz Digital Awards 2019 for Best Youth Show. For his acting, Dhruv won 2020 Filmfare OTT Awards - Critics Best Actor in Comedy Series and OTTplay awards 2022 for Best Onscreen Couple.

Mithila on the other hand, won the Filmfare Awards Marathi, Best Female Debut for her performance in the Marathi film Muramba. She also won awards for her acting in Little Things.

Winner Speach : Mithila received the award from Indian Matchmaking famed Seema Taparia. As she missed her co-star Dhruv at the award ceremony, Mithila, after winning the trophy said, "This is a very special award for me for two people who are extremely close to my heart. It is all the more special because I am receiving it from Seema ji. I would like to give a big thanks to all our audience who kept binging on our show and every season and giving the kind of love the sow has got from the audience. I am really missing Dhruv here because he would have been more articulate with the thanksgiving speech and most importantly, there is no Kavya without Dhruv, and no Dhruv without Kavya."
