The day and date of November 11, 2022 will be forever etched in the memories of everyone who has been associated with the path breaking film Monica, O My Darling, for this was the day when the film got released. The film, which was released on Netflix, proved to be a path breaking in many ways. Ever since its release, it became one of the talking points for many days since its release.

Besides the stellar performances by the lead stars Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi, what was really appealing about the film was its taut screenplay. And today, at the grand ‘OTTplay Awards 2023’, which had taken place in Mumbai, the screenplay writer Yogesh Chandekar bagged the award for Best Screenplay (Film) for his extraordinary screenplay in the film ‘Monica, O My Darling’.

Rajkummar Rao, who received the award on behalf of Yogesh, said, "Please write good stories and bring them to me (Rajkummar) to make these beautiful films. I'm pretty sure he would like to thank his team, including Vasan (Bala). Thank you. Baaki main aur Raj saath mein kaam karte rahenge." He ended the speech with a laugh and left the stage, leaving everyone with a smile.

As for the film ‘Monica, O My Darling’, the film was an adaptation of the 1989 Japanese novel ‘Burutasu No Shinzou’ by Keigo Higashino, and title was actually a hit song from the film 1971 film ‘Caravan’ (which had starred the legendary actor Jeetendra). As for the Netflix film 'Monica, O My Darling’, it starred Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Sikandar Kher, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Adhikari Bagavathi Perumal and Vijay Kenkare in important roles. 

OTTplay Awards 2023 saw the who’s who of Indian cinema turning up at the event at Taj Land’s End on October 29. The only pan-Indian OTT awards show in the country honoured talents across languages – Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bangla – for their phenomenal work on OTT.

OTTplay Awards 2023 was presented by Danube Properties alongside Dabur Chyawanprash and driven by Volkswagen, with Colors Infinity being the telecast partner.
