OTTplay Awards 2025: Jaideep Ahlawat wins Best Actor (Male) Critics for Paatal Lok Season 2

If there is one star who defines what the streaming space should truly stand for, it has to be the amazing Jaideep Ahlawat. Over the years, the Gangs Of Wasseypur star has delivered some of the most brilliant movies and shows in the streaming space, but nothing comes close to the magic he has created with Amazon Prime Video’s Paatal Lok, created by Sudip Sharma. The actor returned for a second season in 2024 and took the world by storm with his seasoned and nuanced performance. Now, the actor has bagged the trophy for Best Actor Male (Critics) at the OTTplay Awards.

Jaideep Ahlawat Wins Best Actor Male (Critics) at OTTplay Awards 2025

The OTTplay Awards took place in Mumbai on March 22, 2025. With the who’s who of Tinseltown in attendance, the Best Actor Male (Critics) trophy was awarded to Jaideep Ahlawat for Paatal Lok Season 2. The actor, who plays Hathiram Chaudhary in the show, portrays an inspector at Jamna Par Police Station in Delhi. The show follows him as he investigates the disappearance of a daily wage worker, which is mysteriously connected to the murder of a high-profile man from Nagaland in the second season.

Talking about winning Best Actor Male (Critics) at the OTTplay Awards 2025, Jaideep Ahlawat said, “Thank you Sudip bhai (Sudip Sharma) and Avinash (Avinash Arun) for making my job easy. I'm blessed to get this award today. Thank you so much OTTplay".

Jaideep Ahlawat is now gearing up for the release of The Family Man Season 3, where he plays the main antagonist opposite Manoj Bajpayee. Meanwhile, Paatal Lok creator Sudip Sharma recently mentioned in an interview that while there is no confirmation yet, he would be elated to create a third season for the much-loved show.

A Star-Studded Night at OTTplay Awards 2025

The OTTplay Awards 2025 also saw the biggest names in the Indian OTT space turn up, celebrating the theme "One Nation, One Award." From Kajol, Aditi Rao Hydari, Kani Kasruti, Priyamani, Nimisha Sanjayan, Rakesh Roshan, Manoj Bajpayee, and various artists were honored at the function. The OTTplay Awards became the most star-studded night of the month.
