OTTplay Awards 2025: Kajol wins Best Actor (Female-Popular Choice) for Do Patti

Kajol is one of the most brilliant actresses in Indian cinema and continues to reinvent herself time and again. After taking on author-backed roles in several Hindi films, she ventured into OTT, embracing a series of challenging roles. One such performance that left audiences in awe was in the Netflix film Do Patti. Her powerful portrayal earned her the Best Actor (Female – Popular Choice) award at the third edition of the OTTplay Awards 2025, held in Mumbai on March 22.

This marks Kajol’s second OTTplay Award, as she previously won Best Debut Actress for her sensational role in the Jio Hotstar series The Trial. With Do Patti, she further cements her dominance in the OTT space.

Directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, Do Patti is set against the misty hills of North India and follows a gripping mystery. Kajol plays Inspector Vidhya Jyothi, who unravels the dark secrets surrounding the twin sisters, portrayed by Kriti Sanon.

Do Patti marks Kajol’s first time playing a cop, and her performance stands out as one of the major highlights of Do Patti. The OTTplay Award is yet another feather in her cap, showcasing her unwavering commitment to powerful storytelling.

Kajol, who was presented the award by Kunal Kohli at the show that was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait, said, “It's been a very strange week for me. I'm happy OTTplay has the very good choice for choosing me for this award.”

OTTplay Awards 2025 also saw the who’s who of Indian OTT space turn up, celebrating the theme - “One Nation, One Award”. Divya Dutta, Kani Kasruti, Priyamani, Rajesh Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, were also honoured at the award function, which had celebs from film industries including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
