OTTplay Awards 2025: Parvathy Thiruvothu bags Best Actor (Female) (Critics) for Manorathangal

Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu, who has had a stellar year being part of movies such as Thangalaan and Ullozhukku, proved that the format hardly matters when it comes to showcasing brilliant performances. The Uyare actress bagged the Best Actor (Female) (Critics) award at the third edition of OTTplay Award 2025, which was held in Mumbai on March 22.

This is Parvathy’s first win at the OTTplay Awards and the actress’ performance in the ZEE5 anthology Manorathangal earned her the recognition. She had played the lead role of Sudha in Shyamaprasad’s segment Kaazhcha, which was based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s noted short stories.

Parvathy was presented the award by Zafar Sawant and Ramesh Taurani at the show that was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. Parvarthy, who made a beautiful entry, looking like a butterfly, said, "It is so wonderful to be hear. I was just hearing Anupam sir speak about his experience and thinking about how we meet our colleagues at these gala/awards. In this limited period, I still can't get over the gaze of a director. Sudha is a memorable character. It's my dream to keeping working with directors whose gaze falls on you and guides you through the journey."

This was Parvathy’s seventh venture in the OTT entertainment space. She is also one of the select few actors who have worked across industries since the advent of OTT, having starred in the Telugu web series Dhootha, Hindi film Kadak Singh, Tamil anthology Navarasa along with her Malayalam direct-to-OTT ventures Puzhu, Wonder Women and Her.

OTTplay Awards 2025 also saw the who’s who of Indian OTT space turn up, celebrating the theme - “One Nation, One Award”. Kajol, Manoj Bajpayee, and Anupam Kher were also honoured at the award function, which had celebs from film industries including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
