OTTplay Awards 2025: Sunny Kaushal wins Best Actor in a Negative Role for Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba

Sunny Kaushal, who has been part of several popular films and series in the Hindi cinema, proved his mettle and craft as he bagged the Best Actor in a Negative Role award at the third edition of OTTplay Awards, which was held in Mumbai on March 22.

Sunny Kaushal's impressive performance in Netflix's romantic thriller film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba earned him the Best Actor in Negative Role Award. For the younger and dashing Kaushal brother, this marks a milestone as he shines in an antagonistic role in the second installment of Haseen Dillruba. He bagged his first win at the OTTplay Awards this year.

Sunny essayed the role of Abhimanyu Dinesh Pandit, a physician whose layered character keeps you hooked. He is one of the leads of a messy love triangle anchored by the talented Vikrant Massey and Taapsee Pannu.

Sunny Kaushal is among the renowned face of the OTT space as he keeps us entertained with various films and series. Some of his notable performances includes The Forgotten Army - Azaadi Ke Liye (Prime Video), Shiddat (JioHotstar), Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (Netflix) and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (Netflix).

After receiving the award from Abhilash Thapiyal at the show, Sunny Kaushal said, “Thank you OTTplay for the award. It means so much. I don't like negativity but is really special. I have never played a deranged guy, so it scared the hell out of me. This award would not mean anything without the cast, crew and audience.”

OTTplay Awards 2025, celebrating the theme of “One Nation, One Award”, was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. Manoj Bajpayee, Kajol and Priya Mani were also honoured at the event, that had the who’s who of Indian OTT space in attendance.

The star-studded event of OTTplay Awards witnessed top artists of the Indian cinema across the states including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada as they dolled up to grace the event.
