OTTplay Bingelist with RJ Stutee: What to Watch in December Week 1

So much is happening in the OTT space that it’s tough to keep track. Quick reminder that the 5th episode of Amazon Prime’s fantasy series The Wheel of Time is out now. And for the rest I can assure you there’s plenty of diverse content on offer. From mainstream Bollywood stars to Black characters taking center stage and even a queer rom-com to keep us hooked!

1. MONEY HEIST PART 5 VOL 2 - How will Money Heist season 5 end? Who will survive ? Will the Professor overcome all odds? We have been living with these questions since 3 September when the first 5 episodes of part 5 started streaming. The Spanish TV series is set to end with its fifth and final season- Money Heist season 5 Vol. 2. So far its been a rather emotionally charged atmosphere with respect to Tokyo . We also saw Inspector Sierra (Najwa Nimri) capturing The Professor after discovering his hideout. As fan theories added to the frenxy about how one of Netflix’s biggest series with come an end we cant wait to see Professor, Lisbon, Rio, Denver and the rest script history. Berlin gets a spin-off as a new show has also been announced around the character. So Money Heist fans will have something to look forward to after their favourite show ends.

2. INSIDE EDGE SEASON 3 - The series created by Karan Anshuman and directed by Kanishk Varma aims to show us the dark underbelly of cricket as the ultimate game of power and greed is unleashed. The Mumbai Mavericks are back and this time with more hidden truths and a few new faces. Amazon Prime Video’s successful cricket franchise, Inside Edge starring Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Aamir Bashir among others promises to be packed with more trials, tribulations, and triumphs of the Mumbai Mavericks, a T20 cricket franchise playing in the PowerPlay League. Zarina Malik, Bhaisaab and Vikrant Dhawan have their hands full as the rivalry deepens, not just on the filed but off it as well .

3. BOB BISWAS – The poker faced insurance agent who sent a chill down our spine in Sujoy Ghosh’s 2012 cult classic Kahaani gets a spin off. Abhishek Bachchan has the tough task of stepping into the shows of a character made iconic by another actor. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh’s daughter Diya Ghosh , Bob Biswas who has the trailer revealed has lost his memory now tries to thread togetehr his own story and navigate the dangerous path he is being led up to. Playing Abhishek’s on-screen wish is Chitrangada Singh. Watch it on Zee 5

4. SINGLE ALL THE WAY - Directed by Michael Mayer and starring Michael Urie and Philemon Chambers it is the first gay holiday romantic comedy film distributed by Netflix. It attempts to give representation to the LGBTQ+ community by exploring homosexual relationships through the main characters. Forever single Peter is happy to finally take home a boyfriend to meet his family over Christmas. But his plans fall apart when Peter discovers that his new partner is married to a woman. Not wanting to disappoint his family, Peter asks his best friend, Nick, to join him for Christmas and pretend to be his boyfriend. However, that plan does not take off because Peter’s mother Carol has already arranged for a blind date for her son with her trainer, James. Heartwarming and well-intentioned Single All the Way promises to be a fun watch.

5. HARLEM – Premiering on Amazon Prime Video is Harlem which follows a group of stylish and ambitious best girlfriends in Harlem, the Mecca of Black culture in America. Created by Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver, this new comedy series follows four dynamic best friends in their 30s living in. Each woman is successful in her own right, but still trying to navigate the various challenges that come her way. A rising star professor struggling to make space for her love life, a savvy tech entrepreneur always dating someone new, a no-filter singer and a hopeless romantic fashion designer. Together, they level up into the next phase of their careers, relationships & big city dreams.
