OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023 recognizes the multi-faceted Sandhya Shetty for her gripping performance in the series Dharavi Bank.

Decorated Karate champion, fashion model and actress Sandhya Shetty - who has acted in films and shows like Bas Yun Hi, Meenaxi: Tale of 3 Cities and Dharavi Bank - has been honoured with the OTTplay Reader's choice OTT Debut of the Year' award at the esteemed OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023.
Held at the JW Marriott (Juhu), Mumbai, on March 26, the awards ceremony boasts some of the biggest and most talented names of the Indian film and OTT fraternities, including Kantara's Rishab Shetty, Rajkumar Rao, Mrunal Thakur, Guneet Monga, Sunny Leone, Swastika Mukerji, and others.
Sandhya Shetty bags the award for her credible work on the 2022 show Dharavi Bank which stars Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Sonali Kulkarni and many others. Sandhya's role as Parvathy in the ten-part series marked her debut on OTT and the same won her a lot of praise from audiences and critics alike.
She received the award from Sunny Hinduja and Neeraj Singh, Chief Revenue Officer, HT Media.
A multi-faceted individual, Sandhya began her professional career as a model and her pageantry career took off on a great note when she finished as a finalist in the reputed Femina Miss India competition. She would then go on to win the Ford Super Model competition and beckon to a new phase in modelling as a supermodel.
But it was apparent all along that she was meant for bigger achievements and this pursuit led her to win the Commonwealth Karate Championship Gold medal in 2015. She would go on to produce a Gold and a Bronze medal for India at the 2017 South Asian Karate Federation before superstar Rajinikanth conferred her with the Super Achiever award of Indian Karate in 2018 on International Women's day.
The 'OTTplay Reader’s Choice OTT Debut of the Year’ award is a recognition of Sandhya Shetty's rigour and versatility as an athlete and artist. OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023, in this vein, comes as a novel initiative to honour and celebrate young and prominent talents of the country who, in other words, are the current trailblazers of entertainment. This is the inaugural edition of the awards.
