Of late, Malayalam actress Prayaga Martin has been exploring avenues – be it branching out to Kannada and Tamil industries or even trying her hand at the digital space with short films on YouTube. The actress has also been catching up on a lot of movies. “I am not really a series person because once I start watching I get addicted to them easily,” she tells OTTplay. “Right now, I watch a lot of classics, especially by Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick and Woody Allen. I want to catch up on all the best films that I have missed.”
The actress, who will next be seen in Suriya and Gautham Vasudev Menon’s segment Guitar Kambi Melle Nindru from Netflix anthology Navarasa, recommends her must-watch films and show on OTTs now.

Based on a true rags-to-riches story, Octavia Spencer plays an African American washerwoman who begins a line of cosmetics and hair products, taking her from poverty to a millionaire. “This is series that I would watch again and again. It’s about CJ Walker, who was America’s first women entrepreneur. It’s an inspiring series,” says Prayaga.

Legendary director Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho is a must-watch for fans of thrillers and students of cinema in general. The film revolves around a secretary who is on the run, after embezzling money from her employer to get away from her boyfriend, and checks into Bates Hotel run by a disturbed proprietor. Hitchcock’s slick direction builds up the suspense that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.
