Three weeks after officially announcing the fourth season of Ozark, Netflix has unveiled the streaming date. Season four will be dropped in two parts and the first part will stream from January 21, 2022. The streaming platform released a teaser video regarding the date announcement which features Jason Bateman as Martin Byrde aka Marty and Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde. The video is captioned as "There's no turning back."
Meanwhile, the new season also features Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, Jessica Frances Dukes, Lisa Emery, Felix Solis, Damian Young, Alfonso Herrera, Adam Rothenberg, John Bedford Lloyd, Joseph Sikora, Bruno Bichir, CC Castillo, Katrina Lenk, Bruce Davison, Ali Stroker and Veronica Falcón.
Chris Mundy returns as showrunner, writer and executive producer of Ozark. While Jason, Mark Williams, John Shiban, Patrick Markey and Bill Dubuque serve as executive producers. Whereas Laura serves as Co-Executive Producer.
For the uninitiated, Ozark is a thrilling drama set in the present-day and follows the Byrde family’s journey from their normal, suburban Chicago life to their dangerous criminal enterprise in Ozarks, Missouri. The series explores capitalism, family dynamics, and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans.
For season two of the show, Jason won Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series at the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards, while Julia was bestowed with Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 2019 and 2020 Emmys.
Jason also won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series at the 2019 and 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The show has been on air on Netflix since 2017 and is one of the most successful shows on the streaming platform.
Meanwhile, Bateman was last seen in the film Thunder Force which is a Netflix original superhero comedy flick starring Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer in the lead roles.
