Pa. Ranjith is back with a bang tackling another story of an underdog in a marginalised community who earns his deserved space in the society come what may, taking the fight to the finish. The much-anticipated trailer of the auteur's latest film Sarapatta Parambarai, to release on Amazon Prime Video this July 22, is out and sucks you into the mid 70s Tamil Nadu with terrific authenticity.

Revolving around the story of Kabilan (Arya), who belongs to the Sarpatta clan in Tamil Nadu, and his tumultuous tryst with boxing, Sarpatta Parambarai stars Arya, Dushara Vijayan, Pasupathy, John Vijay, Kalaiyarasan, Anupama Kumar and Santhosh Pratap in leading roles. The trailer goes a lot beyond boxing and treats the sport more so as a battleground to settle personal scores.

The film questions the politics within the boxing culture and predominantly suggests that boxing is no one's birthright. The women, like all films of Pa. Ranjith, are the emotional anchors of the story and the trailer suggests the significance of the mother and the wife in the life of Kabilan and how they push him to perform to his best potential. Santhosh Narayanan's rousing background score is the lifeline of the trailer and very likely for the film as well. There's intensity, emotion and adrenaline rush - a complete package that makes for a solid, hard-hitting sports drama.

Arya's beefed-up look gives authority to his role as a boxer and he screams intensity in what looks to be a role of a lifetime. The trailer serves as a perfect showcase of Pa. Ranjith's quest for perfection. Expect to be blown away!
