In case you have missed watching Vishwak Sen starrer Paagal in theatres or would like a rewatch, here's some good news for you. Tollywood cinephiles will soon get a chance to enjoy Vishwak’s vivacious onscreen persona in Paagal, from the comfort of their homes.
When will Paagal be released on OTT?
The streaming giant Amazon Prime Video announced that the Telugu rom-com, which featured the directorial debut of Naresh Kuppili, will be available to stream on its platform from September 3, 20 days after hitting the big screens. Paagal was released in theatres on August 14.
What is Paagal about?
Set in Visakhapatnam, the film tells the tale of a young man, who is thrown a curveball in life when his loving mother succumbs to cancer. In his grief, he sets off on a quest to find a partner who will be able to give him just as much love and affection as his mother did, resulting in a hilarious trade of unrequited professions of love, until of course, he crosses paths with ‘the one’.
With its principal photography beginning in September last year, the film’s release had witnessed several snags brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Vishwak Sen, known for his acting prowess in Falaknuma Das, will play the role of a naive young man, who is evaded by love in almost every place he looks for it. In addition to Sen, Paagal will also feature Nivetha Pethuraj, Simran Choudary and Megha Lekha in pivotal roles.
Before its release, a few songs from the movie’s soundtrack, such as the titular track Saradaga Kasepaina, Saradaga Kasepaina and Aagave Nuvvagave were released on Youtube, with fans welcoming it with open arms. Paagal’s music, composed by Radhan and released by Aditya Music label, is regarded as one of the highlights of the film.
Paagal is produced by Dil Raju’s banner Sri Venkateswara Creations, in association with Lucky Media.
