Paappan trailer 2: Suresh Gopi as a former cop could have a dark secret in this investigation thriller

Suresh Gopi has an exceptional track record playing police officers in his long filmography. The actor will once again be seen playing a cop in Joshiy’s upcoming thriller, Paappan. The movie’s makers have now released a second trailer for the movie titled ‘Grand Trailer’.

The trailer kicks off by hinting that the movie will give a lot of importance to the lead character’s personal life just as much as his professional life. We also get to see that a few murders have taken place and the investigating officer asking Suresh Gopi’s Maathan if he has anything to do with them. We then learn that the officer is actually Maathan’s daughter and that he had actually been involved with the investigation in the past.

The makers had previously released a trailer for the movie, which was longer and more detailed that the most recent one. However, the latest trailer begs the question within the viewer about whether Maathan has some dark secrets to hide.

Paappan, which is written by R.J. Shaan is helmed by Joshiy, who last directed Porinju Mariam Jose in 2019. Paappan also has an interesting star cast which includes Neeta Pillai, Gokul Suresh, Kaniha, Rahul Madhav, Vijayaraghavan, Janardhanan and Nyla Usha in important roles.

The movie will tell two parts of Suresh’s character, one where he is a firebrand cop and the other where he is returning to an investigation after already having retired from the police force.

The movie, which is backed by David Kachappilly and Raaffi Mathirra, is set to hit theatres on July 29. The movie will clash with Anoop Menon’s Padma, which is also the directorial debut of Menon.

Suresh Gopi was last seen in the action drama Kaaval, which is now available to stream on Netflix.
