The wait for Fahadh Faasil’s latest Malayalam entertainer Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum to hit an OTT platform is over. The movie, which marks the directorial debut of Sathyan Anthikad’s son Akhil, is currently streaming on a leading platform in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

The movie, which also has Anjana Jayaprakash, Viji Venkatesh, Dhwani Rajesh, Chhaya Kadam, Mukesh, Innocent, Shanti Krishna, Althaf Salim and Mohan Agashe in pivotal roles, is a family entertainer.

Fahadh essays the role of Prashanth aka Pachu, who runs an ayurveda franchisee in Mumbai. During one of his trips to his hometown in Kerala, Pachu is tasked with accompanying an older lady named Laila on a train journey back to Mumbai. Laila, however, decides to get down in Goa, midway through the journey, throwing a spanner in Pachu’s plans. How Pachu’s life then crosses that of two other women – Hamsadhwani and Nidhi – and the changes his character brings in their lives form the plot of the film, which is also co-produced, edited and written by Akhil.

Apart from the lead cast, the movie also has several cameos by Ahaana Krishna, Shruti Ramachandran, Srikanth Murali and Naslen. Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The film, which released on the platform, exactly a month after its theatrical release, was still going strong in theatres in Kerala, having grossed over Rs 15 crore with the bulk of collections coming in the last few weeks.

Akhil, in a recent interview with us, said that the theatre exhibitors had requested him to delay its OTT release for a few weeks due to the demand for the film, which was running to packed theatres in select cinema halls. “I am thrilled about the feedback especially because we didn’t give enough publicity for the film either. In fact, the worst collections for the movie were on its first day and after that the content of the movie promoted itself,” added the director.
