Malayalam romantic comedy Padmini, featuring Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian and Vincy Aloshious, is currently streaming on an OTT platform after its theatrical run. The film, helmed by Senna Hegde and scripted by Deepu Pradeep, had a decent theatrical run last month.

In Padmini, Kunchacko essays the role of Rameshan, a college lecturer whose first marriage doesn't even last a day, after his wife elopes - making him the butt of all jokes. Rameshan's quest to find love succeeds after a guest lecturer named Padmini joins his college. But before thinking about another marriage, Rameshan needs to overcome a legal hurdle.

In Padmini, which is currently streaming on Netflix, Kunchacko's character is portrayed as a charming young man, reminiscent of his roles in films like Aniyathi Pravu. As Rameshan, he effectively conveys the character's sensitive and desperate qualities.

During a previous interview with OTTplay, Kunchacko expressed that the movie Padmini includes a lot of situational humor that viewers will be able to relate to and enjoy. He also mentioned that he used to read the script of Padmini as a stress reliever during the filming of Ariyippu.

In the film, there are three female leads, with each having their own subplots. Like in his previous works, Senna has made sure to give significant attention to the female characters. The supporting cast of the movie includes Anaswara Rajan, Sajin Cherukayil, Anand Manmadhan, and Ganapathi.

Previously, Suvin Varkey, the co-producer of the film Padmini had accused Kunchacko of refusing to attend promotional events of the movie, despite receiving a payment of Rs 2.5 crore. However, in an interview with OTTplay, co-producer Prashobh Krishna stated that the controversy did not negatively impact the box office earnings. Additionally, He emphasised that Padmini demonstrated how quality content can successfully attract audiences to theaters.
