Pain Hustlers star Chris Evans talks secret marriage to Alba Baptista at NYCC 2023

Chris Evans is a married man and not many are able to fathom the fact. The 2022 Sexiest Man Alive sprung a huge surprise on everyone when it emerged that he had married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista in a private at-home ceremony, but he chose to dish out some information at the New York Comic Con. 

"I got married," said the Pain Hustlers actor in response to the interviewer's question about taking some time off in 2023 for 'personal interests'. "It was really, really great (about getting married). We kinda had two ceremonies - we had one on the East Coast, we had one in Portugal, my wife's Portuguese. Ya, ya, go Portugal. But they were wonderful and beautiful," he would add, before confessing that planning a wedding can be a stiff task.

Evans added that unlike the year 2022 when he was juggling between one acting job after another, 2023 has been a more refreshing one because of the marriage. "We're just kind of been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favourite season. It's like, the best time of year right now. Now we're just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting," he said.

Chris Evans, 42, and Alba Baptista, 26, have been rumoured to be dating since 2021 but they were spotted together in public for the first time only in November 2022. On the work front, Evans is looking forward to the release of the crime drama Pain Hustlers which is due to release on Netflix (original) on October 27. Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt stars in the David Yates-directed film and so do Catherine O'Hara, Andy Garcia, Jay Duplass and others. 

Chris Evans is also slated to reprise his role as Steve Rogers or Captain America in the upcoming instalments of the Avengers franchise.

Alba Baptista, on the other hand, was last seen on the fantasy drama series Warrior Nun in which she played the titular role. She was also seen in the 2022 film Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.
