The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Palli Chattambi, have revealed an update on its production today (June 23). The action drama, which is directed by Dijo Jose Antony, stars Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar in the lead roles.
With photos of crew members on the sets, it has now been verified that the film's production has started. Videos of Kayadu's arrival in Kerala were recently making the rounds on social media, confirming it.
Fans of the actor and movie buffs were excited to learn that Tovino Thomas would be collaborating on an action thriller with Dijo, the director who gained fame for films like Queen, Jana Gana Mana, and Malayalee From India. The COVID-19 epidemic and numerous lockdowns have caused Palli Chattambi to be postponed indefinitely, which has been in the headlines for some time. The director did, however, affirm in an interview last year that the project will shortly be restarted in 2025.
According to sources, this film is a full-fledged action thriller that takes place in a distant time period. Reports state that the movie is set against the backdrop of migrant farmers' lives in Kerala's hilly areas in 1957 and 1958. The locations of this action thriller includes Kanjar and Moolamattom in Idukki district. The cast of this movie also includes many new actors, along with Vijayaraghavan, Sudheer Karamana, Johny Antony, T G Ravi, Prashanth Alexander, Jayakrishnan, and Vinod Ketamangalam in supporting parts.
Suresh Babu, a well-known screenwriter for popular films like Dadasaheb, Shikkar, and Oruthee, penned the script for this movie, which is bankrolled by Naufal and Brajesh under the Worldwide Films India's banner. This movie's art direction is being handled by renowned artiste Dilip Nath. The music for this eagerly awaited movie is being composed by Jakes Bejoy. Kayadu received accolades for her role in the Tamil movie Dragon, while Tovino Thomas had a few releases this year, including Empuraan and Narivetta.
