Pallichattambi director calls Kayadu Lohar the 'heart of our story' in Tovino Thomas-starrer

Even amid all the accolades that have been coming his way post his cameo in Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Tovino Thomas is busy with his own films. The ARM actor is busy with Pallichattambi, helmed by Dijo Jose Antony, and stars Kayadu Lohar too. The young director has only kind words for the Dragon actress, calling her the ‘heart of our story’.

Kayadu Lohar in Tovino’s Pallichattambi

Pallichattambi is an upcoming film, starring Tovino Thomas in the lead along with Kayadu Lohar. The popular young actress has wrapped up her portions for the Dijo Jose Antony directorial. The Jana Gana Mana director took to Instagram to share the update, and shared her photos from the Pallichattambi set as well . “Our star Kayadu Lohar completes her journey in Pallichatambi. A performer, a powerhouse, and the heart of our story. Thank you, Kayadu for bringing so much soul, laughter, and magic to every frame. You made this journey unforgettable,” the director wrote in the caption.

More details about Kayadu’s role in the film are not known. The actress, who was part of Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon, will be next seen in the Telugu film Funky.

Pallichattambi, touted to be a period drama, was launched in February2025. Apart from Tovino and Kayadu, the upcoming Malayalam film also stars Johny Antony, Vijayaraghavan, Sudheer Karamana, TG Ravi, Prashanth Alexander, and Sreejith Ravi. The film is scripted by Oruthee writer S Suresh Babu, with music by Lokah composer Jakes Bejoy.

Tovino Thomas was last seen in a fun cameo as Michael the Chathan in Lokah, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in the lead roles. Dominic Arun has directed the blockbuster hit film, which has already announced its second part with Tovino in the lead. A teaser video of Tovino and Dulquer Salmaan, who also made a cameo appearance in the film, has already piqued the interest of fans for Lokah Chapter 2. 

On the other hand, JioHotstar recently confirmed that it has bagged the streaming rights for the hit superhero film. But a release date is yet to be announced. Once Lokah premieres on JioHotstar, it would also be available on OTTplay Premium.
