The first poster and song of Basil Joseph’s Palthu Janwar had already caught the attention of the audience when they were released. But the trailer promises that the movie is not just a comedy but also has several elements that will keep the viewers engrossed.

The trailer of the movie, which is directed by debutant Sangeeth P Rajan, was released online on Saturday and revealed the film’s setting as well as its chief characters essayed by Basil, Dileesh Pothan, Shammi Thilakan, Johnny Antony, Indrans and Unnimaya.

Palthu Janwar has Basil as a livestock inspector named Prasoon, who is posted at a village. Shammi appears to be playing the superior of the youngster, who seems to have been forced to abandon his dreams to take up the job. Prasoon’s lack of interest in the job, despite his initial fire to adjust, also seem to cause problems among the villagers who had been waiting for bated breath for a livestock officer who could solve the problems of the animals that they care for.

Basil had previously worked with the team in Joji, in which he played a priest. Composed by Justin Varghese and shot by Renadive, Palthu Janwar is currently scheduled to hit theatres on September 2. The movie will clash with Kunchacko Boban and Arvind Swami’s action-thriller Ottu, which also has Jackie Shroff and Eesha Rabba as part of the cast and is helmed by Theevandi director Fellini TP.
