The film also stars Samuthirakani, Swathi Reddy, Shivathmika Rajasekhar, Rahul Vijay, Naresh Agasthya and Divya Sripada
One of Telugu cinema's most legendary comedians, Brahmanandam, has been out of action for some time now. The fans of the comedian popularly addressed as 'haasya brahma' finally have a reason to rejoice, as he makes his comeback with a multi-starrer titled Panchanthantram. The actor's first look from the film, where he plays a role titled Veda Vyas, a narrator, was unveiled on Saturday. The film, also featuring Samuthirakani, Swathi Reddy, Shivathmika Rajasekhar, Naresh Agasthya and Rahul Vijay in pivotal roles, is written and directed by Harsha Pulipaka.
The legendary comedian is seen talking in front of a mic in the first look. Apart from entertaining audiences with his rib-tickling humour, Brahmanandam will be part of several emotional sequences in the film. There will be a fine dose of 'drama and sentiment' in his performance, the makers assure. The comedian has completed shooting for his sequences already as part of an ongoing schedule. The entire shoot of Panchathantram would be wrapped up in this final schedule as well.
Brahmanandam's last full-fledged role was for this year's blockbuster Jathi Ratnalu, before which he was seen briefly in Alaa Vaikunthapurramulo and Ramgopal Varma's Amma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Biddalu too. Panchathantram is bankrolled by Akhilesh Vardhan and Srujan Yarabolu under Ticket Factory and S Originals. The post-production formalities for the film have already commenced and the makers are aiming at a November release. Divya Sripada, Srividya, Vikas, Adarsh Balakrishna are cast in crucial roles as well. The film's technical crew includes cinematographer Raj K Nalli and composer Prashanth R Vihari.
