Panchayat 2 is one of the most anticipated web series of 2022. The first season of this Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav starrer was received immensely well by the audiences across the country. Director Deepak Kumar Mishra speaks about the reasons behind making the much-loved Prime Video Original. 

The filmmaker spoke about the most love show and also explained the reason to name it Panchayat. Deepak said in a recent statement, "A panchayat in India is the personification of what village life is. I wanted to revive the viewers’ fondness for classic shows and relate that to reality." He further added that he grew up watching the shows like Malgudi Days and Panchatantra that had the essence of small Village culture.

He also mentioned that the aim of the makers of Panchayat is to show the new-age generation what they grew up watching back in the day. "Panchayat’s name connects viewers to their motherlands," he added.

In the end, Deepak said that it was long due for the Gen Zs to experience a show similar to the environment the earlier generations grew up watching.  

Meanwhile, Jitendra who essays the lead role spoke about the love and affection that he and the show have been receiving all over the country. He said in a recent statement that shooting for Panchayat has been a great experience for him and he was sure that the byproduct of all cast and crew's efforts would be beautiful. "The way the show reached the audience was a bit unexpected for me. I was overwhelmed with the response we received," he added.

Panchayat 2, which also has Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvika, Deepak Kumar and others, is all set to drop on Amazon Prime Video on May 20.
