The Amazon Prime Video's comedy series, Panchayat, starring Jitendra Kumar has been winning the hearts of the people. The second season of the show, which was recently released is also continuing that trend. The show follows the story of a panchayat secretary at the Phulera village and portrays a playful village life. The show is credited for not its story, and performances but also for portraying a village life beautifully. This has made fans even more curious to find out where the team has shot their favourite series.
According to India.com, the show was shot in a remote village called Mahodiya. It is situated in the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, which is the central part of the country, known for its natural beauty and wildlife. The village is 9 km away from Sehore. According to 2009 statistics, the village is also a gram panchayat. The village was spotted by a Twitter user, who used the satellite view of the village and shared the image on social media, marking the famous 'tanki' or water tank, that's featured in the show.
The actor Jitendra had earlier spoken about his experience shooting in the remote village. He said, according to the portal, that the team used to travel early morning to the village from a nearby town and film the series until dark. He had also earlier spoken about what he misses the most about the village life while he stays in a city in a video, shared by the makers. He said that in the village, he gets to experience the morning, afternoon and evening of a day, unlike in the city where people lead fast lives.
The show, apart from Jitendra Kumar, also features Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik and Sanvikaa in pivotal roles. The series is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and the script is by Chandan Kumar. The show is produced by Arunabh Kumar under the banner of TVF.
Both the seasons of the hit series are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
