Panchayat 2: Trailer of Jitendra Kumar-Neena Gupta’s series trends at number 2 spot on YouTube

It seems that fans are more than a little excited to welcome back Jitendra Kumar-led Panchayat for its upcoming second season. The trailer of the new season was released recently and has found its way onto the trending content on YouTube. The trailer has earned second place among trending videos on the platform.

The trailer of the highly awaited second season of the comedy drama has also managed to garner more than 20 million views in just four days of the video’s release. Fans had also taken to social media to show their appreciation for the show and trailer.

Panchayat revolves around the story of Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), an engineering graduate who secures a job at a remote village’s panchayat office, after he is unable to find a job suited to his qualifications. But as the political scenario in the village starts to get heated, Abhishek’s mundane life and job start to get interesting. In a statement, the actor opened up about his character’s ‘dilemma’, saying that he could relate to the character as he had grown up in a small town himself. But Abhishek’s challenge was bigger, said the actor, as the protagonist had to transition into rural life. In addition to Kumar, the series also features Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik and Sanvikaa in pivotal roles.

Deepak Kumar Mishra has directed the series, from a script written by Chandan Kumar. The show has been produced by Arunabh Kumar under the banner of TVF.

The second season of Panchayat will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 20, 2022.
