Panchayat: Release date of Panchayat Season 2 and where to watch the hit web series online

Panchayat, the comedy web series starring Jitendra Kumar in the lead role, is set to return for a second season. Created by The Viral Fever, the first instalment of the show received plaudits from critics and viewers alike.

The series is centred on Abhishek Tripathi (Kumar), an engineering graduate who unwillingly ends up becoming the panchayat secretary of a small village called Phulera in Uttar Pradesh. He is confronted with many challenging situations while navigating village life amidst a motley group of people. The series is helmed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who has previously directed series such as Permanent Roommates and Humorously Yours!

Scripted by Chandan Roy, the series also features Neena Gupta as sarpanch Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey (Manju Devi's husband), Biswapati Sarkar as Prateek, Faisal Malik as Prahlad Pandey, Chandan Roy as Vikas, and Pooja Singh as Rinky. The soundtrack is by Anurag Saikia, who is one of the youngest composers to win the Rajat Kamal award for Best Non-Feature Film Music Direction (Yugadrashta). Amitabh Singh serves as the cinematographer.

The web series bagged three Filmfare OTT Awardsawards - Best Actor in a Comedy Series (Jitendra Kumar), Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Raghubir Yadav) and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Neena Gupta).
