The film industry got shocking news as Indian actor Pankaj Dheer passed away on October 15. He was best known for playing Karna in BR Chopra's forever iconic TV show Mahabharat. It is reported that the actor was battling cancer, which recurred a few months ago despite major surgery. He passed away at the age of 68.
Pankaj Dheer passes away
As per reports, Pankaj Dheer, known for his portrayal of Karna in BR Chopra's Mahabharat, died on October 15. His old friend, colleague, and CINTAA member Amit Behl confirmed the news to India Today.
According to sources, Pankaj had been battling cancer for quite some time. Despite recovering from the illness, the disease recurred a few months ago, due to which he became extremely ill. He also underwent major surgeries regarding this condition.
An official statement from CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes’ Association) was released on Wednesday, October 15, which confirmed the news of Dheer’s demise. It stated, "With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the passing of our Trust’s erstwhile Chairman and CINTAA's former Hon. General Secretary, Shri Pankaj Dheer ji, on 15th October 2025. The cremation will be held today at 4:30 pm, next to Pawan Hans, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai."
Pankaj Dheer is survived by his wife, Anita Dheer, and a son, actor Nikitin Dheer.
