Pankaj Tripathi took part in a session of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022 on Friday.
Pankaj Tripathi spoke at length about the significance that OTT has on his life and career. The Mirzapur actor also spoke about his feelings on being typecast in a conversation with Sonal Kalra, HT's chief managing editor for entertainment and lifestyle, at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022.
Speaking about if there’s any right age to enter OTT platforms and play the lead characters, Pankaj said, "There is no such requirement as your age group, level of stardom or personal baggage. The story and how well it is handled are the most crucial aspects of OTT. The storyline and how well it is written and adapted for the film or show are the things that matter here. These platforms put more emphasis on these factors than on earning well."
The actor added, "It is not required to have six packs in this setting, but it is not required in cinemas either. However, when films are presented on big screens, there is a lot of baggage that is not present here. On OTT, age or appearance are irrelevant. Just the story matters. The primary components of OTT are a well-written script, a good director, and a good cast."
The last time we saw the actor was in Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, by director Srijit Mukherji. Pankaj played Gangaram in the movie, which was released at the beginning of this year. Gangaram seeks out a tiger in order to sacrifice himself and put an end to the famine that is plaguing his town. Sayani Gupta and Neeraj Kabi also starred in the film in important roles.
Pankaj will next be seen in the film Oh My God! 2, starring Akshay Kumar. This will mark his entry into the franchise.
Raveena Tandon participated in the session with Pankaj Tripathi. She also made her OTT debut recently with the Netflix show Aranyak.
