Pankaj Tripathi on Bunty Aur Babli 2: Gives me creative freedom to just entertain audiences through comedy

It was Amitabh Bachchan who played the role of a cop in Bunty Aur Babli released in 2005. Now after 15 years, in the sequel Bunty Aur Babli 2, the makers have roped in Pankaj Tripathi to play the cop. The talented actor will be seen as Jatayu Singh and his glimpses in the trailer have left an impressive mark on everyone. Now during an interaction, Pankaj spoke at length about his role and also about being a part of Bunty Aur Babli 2.

As per reports in ANI, the actor stated, "I'm grateful to find projects that are different and Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a supremely funny film. I just loved the character that was offered to me by my director Varun V Sharma and YRF and I hope I have done justice to the role."

Pankaj also revealed that he has been looking for a role like this as it gives him the creative freedom to just entertain audiences through comedy.

Dishing details about his character, the Mirzapur actor further said, "I play a cop named Jatayu Singh, who through his shrewdness, manages to pit the two Bunty and Bablis in an epic fight for supremacy. While the two battle it out to prove who is the biggest con artist, I have my eyes on the prize to be the most acclaimed cop."

Pankaj also narrates that he is the one who gets the original Bunty Babli out of their hiding to chase the new Bunty Babli.

The actor concluded by saying, "What follows is madness and a laugh riot for audiences to be thoroughly entertained."

Bunty Aur Babli 2 features Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and debutante Sharvari in the lead roles. The film marks the directorial debut of Varun V Sharma and is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. Bunty Aur Babli 2 is slated to hit the big screens on November 19, 2021.
