Paoli Dam signs up for a new challenge and here is what we know

Paoli Dam is all set to gear up for a challenging role in an upcoming web series. She will play a key character in director Aritra Sen’s political thriller, Julie, on Addatimes. 

The plot delves into the political background in Kolkata, where the character Julie, played by Paoli, is a politician. “Julie comes from the marginal class and emerges as one of the politicians,” Aritra said in an interview with Anandabazar. The show will capture the different aspects of Kolkata and will be represented through a political prism. 

Along with Paoli, Shruti Das, and Gourab Chatterjee will also play key roles in the show. Earlier, Paoli worked with Arintra in Kaali. Gourab plays the male lead in the director’s Shohorer Ushnotomo Dine. 

Talking about the projects, Artitra said that he wanted to explore various other genres. He worked in romance, made thrillers and whodunit. “I like political thriller as a genre and hence the effort. Also, I wanted to work with Paoli again,” he said. 

Gourab plays the character of a CBI officer. Koushik Sen and Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee will play the characters of other politicians. Shruti will be seen as another young political activist. The shooting will start in May.
