PAPA: Naga Shaurya, Malvika Nair confirm Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi first look launch date in a funny promo

Naga Shaurya and Malvika Nair, the hit-pair that earlier worked for director Nandini Reddy’s rom-com Kalyana Vaibhogame, are reuniting for another love story titled Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi a.k.a PAPA. Written and directed by Srinivas Avasarala, the film has been in the making for a long time and wrapped its shoot recently in the UK. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Padmaja Dasari, the film is aiming for a release in early 2023.

Commemorating the New Year day, the makers shared a special video to announce the first look launch date of the film. In the video, Malavika Nair calls Naga Shaurya to remind him about the project for which they worked together. Shaurya thinks she’s referring to Kalyana Vaibhogame but she tells this is another project, PAPA, for which they shot in the UK. He tells her about not having any clue about the status of the project and they decide to go on a conference call with Srinivas Avasarala.

Srinivas Avasarala cheekily asks Malvika and Shaurya on what they’re exactly talking about. After the confusion is resolved, the former finally informs them that the first look will be out on January 2 and that he had sent them a text regarding the same. The leads are thrilled with the message and Shaurya even says the launch timing on January 2 (instead of the New Year day) at 11:00 am is interesting. This is Shaurya’s third film with Srinivas Avasarala after Oohalu Gusagusalade and Jyo Achyutananda.

The director Srinivas Avasarala too plays a key role in the film that also stars Megha Chowdhury, Ashok Kumar, Abhishek Maharshi, Srividhya, Varanasi Soumya Chalamcharla, Harini Rao, Arjun Prasad. Sunil Kumar Nama has cranked the camera for the project which has music by Kalyani Malik and is edited by Kiran Ganti. Azmat Ansari(UK), John Murphy(UK), Ramakrishna are the art directors. Vivek Kuchibhotla is the co-producer.
