Paradha is Anupama Parameswaran’s new Telugu film, which hit the screens on August 22, 2025. The social drama was directed by Praveen Kandregula, who earlier made Cinema Bandi and Shubham, both successful at the box office. Naturally, there was decent hype for Paradha as the trailer caught everyone’s imagination.
Paradha is an epic disaster
The makers were so confident that they held special premieres two days in advance. But, ever since then, negative buzz began, leading to shocking collections on day one. As per the latest update from the tracking website Sachinilk, Paradha has collected only ₹26 lakhs in its first two days.
On day one, Paradha made Rs 12 lakh, and on day two, it collected Rs 14 lakh. These are alarmingly low numbers, showing that the film was largely rejected on its opening day. This also gives an idea that not many even knew such a film came out in the first place.
Anupama Parameswaran played the female lead, while Malayalam star Darshana Rajendran made her Telugu debut. Noted actress Sangitha also played a key role and he scenes with Harshvardhan have been appreciated big time. Despite good visuals, the film suffered from outdated narration, weak emotions, and a predictable storyline that left audiences disappointed.
The promotions were aggressive, especially with Anupama’s character shown veiled in the trailer, which raised curiosity. However, the execution fell flat. Paradha tells the story of a young girl in a small village forced to cover her face with a veil. When a photographer captures her face, hell breaks lose and she is kicked out of the village and is asked to prove her innoncense. Along with characters played by Sangeetha and Darshana Rajendran, she embarks on a journey to reclaim her lost identity.

We had already reported that Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights, and considering the poor theatrical run, the film is expected to arrive on OTT within a month of its release. Now that it is the weekend, we need to see how the film fares from here on, but by the looks of it, Paradha will be out of theaters soon.
