Veteran actor Paran Bandyopadhyay opened up on the ongoing protest over the heinous RG Kar incident that took place earlier this month. He advised everyone to be conscious. Whom did he hold responsible for the incident?
Paran Bandyopadhyay posted a video on Facebook where he said, “I saw on August 14 that millions of mothers and sisters were coming to the streets, in India and abroad. I never saw such a thing in my life. On the night before Independence Day, Bengali women were at the forefront of breaking the bondage of slavery. All of them demanded justice.”
He further said 'Those who committed this heinous monstrous crime did it with the help of a force. Everyone understands that it is an organized crime and hence seeks justice. What I want to say is that let the resistance not stop. Those who committed the crime know that people will forget it after some time. The criminals will lie low for some days and then come out again and will roam fearlessly. These hyenas will reclaim the dark forest again before Puja. Hence the protests should not be stopped. We must be aware that our voices should not be suppressed. Let the protest go on. Let the voice of justice not cry in silence.'
Addressing Bengali women, Paran said 'My time to leave this world has come. But I will not leave. I will be by your side.'
Many people supported him. One person wrote 'Our favorite Paran Bandyopadhyay said such beautiful and necessary words. Congratulations to our mothers and sisters.' Another person wrote 'Till now, your acting mesmerized us. Now, your beautiful expression amazed us once again. We are truly facing devastation. We had not heard anything like this before. All of us are speechless. Do we live in a civilized world? We are more shocked to see the doctors involved in this.'
