Parasakthi OTT release date: Sivakarthikeyan political drama skips Hindi version; where, when to stream in Telugu, Malayalam

The 2026 Tamil film Parasakthi is soon to premiere on ZEE5. The period political drama can also be watched by subscribers of OTTplay Premium. With ZEE5 set to launch Parasakthi from February 7, the film will be skipping its Hindi version. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sudha Kongara, it is going to stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Parasakthi is a Tamil period drama, which is set against the backdrop of the 1965 Anti-Hindi Imposition agitation that took place in Tamil Nadu. With the period marking a political significance in the history of state, Parasakthi explores themes of identity, self-respect, and resistance through an emotionally charged narrative of two brothers drawn into a defining movement of their time.

After its theatrical run, Parasakthi is set to debut on OTT through ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Likely because of its content, the film will not have a Hindi version, while the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions will stream from February 7 onwards.

What is Parasakthi cast and crew?

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan as Chezhiyan, a young man who was once deeply involved in the anti-Hindi agitations and now works for the Railways department. His brother Chinnadurai reignites the imposition of Hindi as an official language, and is played by Atharvaa. With actor Sreeleela playing the female lead Rathnamala, a young Telugu woman who lends support to the students’ riots, Ravi Mohan plays the antagonist, a ruthless police officer who loathes his Tamil identity.

Parasakthi is directed by Sudha Kongara and has music by GV Prakash Kumar, in his 100th musical outing. It is to be noted that Parasakthi marks Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film as lead actor. The film had opened to mixed reviews upon its release and had made about Rs 88 crore at the box office worldwide.
