A new look of the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Parasakthi was released by the makers on social media on Thursday, January 30. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film also stars actors Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa Murali, and Sreeleela in pivotal roles.
Only a day back, the makers of SK 25 announced that the title of the film borrows from the 1952 Tamil film Parasakthi. An intriguing title teaser was released, which introduced the lead cast, and revealed the film to be a period drama set against the backdrop of students’ revolution.
Following this, a new look was released on Thursday. Dressed in retro style, Sivakarthikeyan is seemingly catching papers that are flying, one of which reads 'Let Tamil spread like fire'. This reiterated that the film will be about the anti-Hindi agitations that took place in Tamil Nadu in the 1960s.
Parasakthi is helmed by Sudha Kongara and will feature a refreshing cast. While Atharva Murali will be seen as a prominent character, Sreeleela will be making her Tamil debut, and Ravi Mohan will feature as an antagonist for the first time. Dawn Pictures is bankrolling the film with GV Prakash scoring the music.
Parasakthi's title became a topic of contention when Vijay Antony also announced the Telugu title of his upcoming film, Parashakthi. While both Dawn Pictures and Vijay Antony produced paperwork for their title registration, on Thursday, all seemed to be well with Sivakarthikeyan’s project going ahead with the title. Dawn Pictures put up a photograph with producer Aakash Baskaran meeting Vijay Antony and thanking him.
Vijay Antony’s film which has been titled Shakthi Thirumagan in Tamil, is directed by Arun Prabhu Purushotaman. The film will now have a different title in Telugu.
