Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar have done several films together and brought great joy and entertainment to the audiences. Films such as Hera Pheri, Bhaagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, OMG: Oh My God, and others are still fans' favourites. In a new interview, Paresh reacted to the criticism faced by Akshay for doing 5 films a year.
Paresh Rawal defends Akshay Kumar
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal opened up about his friendship with Akshay Kumar while defending the actor amid criticism over doing 5 films a year.
Rawal said, “What is your problem if he does so many films? People go to him to make the films, right? Yes, he takes money for it; he's not doing charity. As a producer, I would sign an actor only if I can account for the money I am investing.”
He also stated that it’s unfair to even question why Akshay does numerous films a year. He said that he does not understand why people point it out because he isn’t smuggling, bootlegging, selling drugs, or gambling.
"He is just working as much as he possibly can. And more importantly, his films are also a source of employment for thousands. I don't see the issue in it; where is the problem?” Paresh Rawal said.
In the same interview, Paresh also spoke about how there are no insecurities in his friendship with Akshay as they both thrive in their own spaces. He called the actor 'extremely hardworking' and 'honest' while praising his honesty.
Work front
Akshay, who was last seen in the Sky Force, will soon be seen in Jolly LLB 3, Housefull 5, Bhooth Bangla, Welcome to the Jungle, Hera Pheri 3, Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, and The Bravery Legendary Untold Story of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He also has a cameo in the Telugu film Kannappa.
Meanwhile, Paresh will share the screen with him in Hera Pheri 3, Welcome to the Jungle, and Bhooth Bangla.
