Parineeti Chopra was the original choice for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's blockbuster film, Animal. The makers had announced the film with Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra as the lead star cast. However, Parineeti opted out of the movie and Rashmika Mandanna was roped in to play Gitanjali's role. Instead of Animal, Parineeti preferred doing Imtiaz Ali's Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila with Diljit Dosanjh. In the latest interview, the actress revealed why she made that choice.

On Aap Ki Adalat, Parineeti finally revealed why she chose Amar Singh Chamkila over Animal. "To be honest, I think god had something better for me. I was doing that film, almost everything was worked out. But on the same dates, I was offered Chamkila," revealed Parineeti.
The actress further mentioned she was offered many songs and got a chance to croon tracks composed by AR Rahman. She called Imtiaz Ali her 'dream director'. "I was offered to do so much more, that I chose to do Chamkila. And the love, support, recognition, respect and nominations which I got because of Chamkila, I think I don’t regret it, I am happy," added Chopra.
Politician Raghav Chadha (Parineeti's husband) also revealed that they got to spend more time together as the actress was in Punjab for Amar Singh Chamkila's shoot. "When Parineeti returned to India, she came straight to Punjab for a shoot. We kept meeting, and the relationship grew stronger over time. At first, we met secretly, away from the public eye," recalled Raghav.

Meanwhile, Parineeti's last film release was Imtiaz's Amar Singh Chamkila. The actress played the role of late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila's wife Amarjot in the movie. On the other hand, Diljit played the titular role. Their film was released on Netflix. She is currently busy shooting for her next untitled project.
