Paris & Nicole: The Encore - Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reunite for Opera special 21 years after The Simple Life

Twenty-one years after they became famous on television for subtly terrorizing a tiny Arkansas town on The Simple Life, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are coming back together for a three-part reunion special, and it's not exactly what you'd expect. Paris & Nicole: The Encore will follow the all-stars of the 2024 Vulture Festival as they try to produce a once-in-a-lifetime operatic performance based on their self-coined phrase, "Sanasa." This follows four seasons of them taking on blue-collar occupations and one season of them being housewives.

What they lack in musical acumen and general knowledge of the arts they will have to make up elsewhere, Alan Cumming narrates in a new teaser for the miniseries, which, in typical OG Simple Life form, romanticizes the girls. Because to write their magnum opus, they must first revisit their past, the teaser depicts the two going back to the small Arkansas hamlet where their reality-TV odyssey began, holding auditions including Sia!, and selling their opera concept to a perplexed Kathy Hilton. This necessitates a visit to Walmart, where a plethora of items beyond those for decoration can be found.

If you haven't heard it in the past 20 years, "Sanasa" is a stupid yet incredibly catchy song that they sang during "The Simple Life". It goes something like, "Sanasa, sanasa, sanasa-sa sanasa" until they either get tired of it or are forced to stop. With Richie's genuine talent for musical humor and Hilton's trollish sense of humor, the whole "Sanasa" opera is the perfect fit. 

Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton get back together for the 20th anniversary of "The Simple Life," and they decide that going to the opera is the perfect way to honor their legendary friendship.  They make an announcement about creating an opera based on their childhood hit "Sanasa." They will compose, produce, and perform the opera. They will gather with illustrious members of the arts world, reflect on their opera's creation tale for inspiration, and then tackle the challenging task of staging a one-word opera.

"Paris & Nicole: The Encore" will begin streaming in India on JioCinema (OTTplay Premium) from December 13, 2024.
