Director M Padmakumar directorial Pathaam Valavu’s highlight will be Indrajith Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu going up against each other and putting on an acting workshop. Over the past decade, the duo has proved that they can ace any role that comes their way, but Pathaam Valavu has another challenge in store as they will be carrying the film on their shoulders.
In an event ahead of the film’s release, Indrajith said that though they have acted together in several movies, this is the first time that the duo will be playing such impactful roles and their combination is one to look out for.
What is Pathaam Valavu about?
Scripted by Abhilash Pillai, the movie is based on a real-life incident that “shook” Kerala a few years ago. While the scriptwriter didn’t mention the exact event, he did tell OTTplay in an earlier interview that some portions of the movie were shot in locations where the incident had transpired.
Pathaam Valavu has Suraj playing a convict, who is out on parole and is on the run. Indrajith’s character of a cop is then assigned to track him down and bring him back to jail. The actor had said that the film is essentially an emotional drama with elements of a thriller and would be enjoyable to the family audience.
Apart from Indrajith and Suraj, the film also has Aditi Ravi, Ajmal Amir, Major Ravi and Swasika Vijay in pivotal roles. The movie also marks the next collaboration between Padmakumar and composer Ranjin Raj after their superhit Joseph, which is currently being remade in Bollywood with Sunny Deol.
When is Pathaam Valavu releasing?
The thriller, which had completed shoot last year, is set to hit theatres in Kerala on May 13. The movie is expected to hit an OTT platform, a month after its theatrical run.
